Easter

James' first Easter was egg-cellent! Saturday James went to Nana's house to help his cousins make a bunny cake. He also helped himself to some cupcakes and icing (with Jamie's assistance of course). Yummm!

He also loved playing with his cousins!

Easter Sunday, after making through almost the whole church service, we all headed to Judy's house for a family lunch and egg hunt.
More fun with cousins...

Needless to say, James slept well!

This past Sunday, James went on his first trip to the zoo. We went with my parents, Ellen, Armistead, Carlton, and even baby Caroline. We managed to see most of the exhibits before the rain started. It was chillier than we anticipated so we had to purchase some classy zoo long sleeve shirts, but fun was had by all.

Armistead and "King of the Jungle"Carlton enthralled with the female gorillas and their babies.
What a fun day!

March Milestones

I know its April, but time has crept up on us so we just wanted to fill you in on what our little man has been up to over the past month. Lately we've had many firsts and milestones. James found his toes, is rolling from back to belly and belly to back, and most recently has started sitting up (as of last Saturday)! He loves his new found freedom of rolling which allows him to scoot closer to things he's not suppose to get into - time to baby proof the house!
We also started on fruits, specifically pears, which he now likes (I think) but on first try produced squinty eyes, frowns, and even a shudder (much to our amusement).
He also likes to "help" which makes feeding that much more interesting.

Ymmmmm I think I like these pears!

And in true Atlanta fashion, James had his first trip to the Varsity. No PCs or FOs yet, just plenty of onion rings, chilly dogs, and nekkid steaks for Mommy and Daddy!

And March also brought James a new cousin - Caroline Cornelia Whitney. Caroline was born on March 25th and weighed 6lbs and 5oz. Everyone is at home and doing well, despite the lack of sleep for her parents.

Perhaps the biggest milestone this month was James' 6 month birthday! I made cupcakes for the occasion and James enjoyed sticking his fingers in the icing.
I still can't believe that he is 6 months old! The time has gone by so fast and he gets bigger every day. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital, clueless as to what to do with a newborn. We are still somewhat clueless, just having a lot more fun!
